Senior Operations Specialist – Rides Marketplace & Planning

Our client is a leading European mobility platform that connects passengers with drivers through its ride-hailing services. Operating across multiple countries, the company uses technology and data-driven solutions to make urban mobility more accessible, convenient, and affordable.

We are looking for a Senior Operations Specialist – Rides Marketplace & Planning to lead the performance and strategic development of the ride-hailing marketplace in Romania. This is a senior role with significant ownership and autonomy. You will define strategies to balance supply and demand across Romanian cities, make commercial and financial decisions that directly impact business performance, and lead complex cross-functional projects from planning to execution.

Working closely with the Operations Manager and senior leadership team, including the General Manager, you will turn data and business insights into actionable strategies. You will need to make sound decisions in situations where information is incomplete, priorities compete, and the right solution is not always obvious. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and financial skills with a commercial mindset, sound judgment, and a proactive, business-owner approach.

Cerințe

  • At least 3-4 years of experience in an analytical, commercial, strategic, or project management role. Relevant backgrounds may include consulting, operations, strategy, analytics, startups, or entrepreneurship.
  • A proven track record of taking ownership, making independent decisions, and delivering measurable results in uncertain or fast-paced environments.
  • Strong financial acumen and practical knowledge of unit economics, P&L, margins, pricing, investment decisions, and business cases.
  • Advanced analytical and modelling skills, including the ability to build complex models and dashboards, identify underlying performance drivers, and quantify the impact of business decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets. Experience with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau is an advantage.
  • Curiosity about AI tools and a willingness to experiment with automation to improve team efficiency. Previous experience building AI automations is not required.
  • Strong ownership mentality, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and proactive under pressure without relying on detailed instructions or perfect information.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Romanian and English.
  • The ability to turn complex data into clear, practical recommendations and communicate them effectively to different stakeholders.

Responsabilități

  • Marketplace Strategy & Performance: Take ownership of the Romanian ride-hailing marketplace, monitoring supply and demand across cities, anticipating imbalances, and defining strategies involving pricing, investments, and cross-functional initiatives. Support decisions with clear business analyses and quantified estimates of their impact on conversion rates, GMV, and margins.Planning & Forecasting: Coordinate business target-setting, develop scenario models, track progress against OKRs, and define strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Project Management: Lead and coordinate complex projects involving multiple teams or markets. Define scope, timelines, and priorities, assess trade-offs, and maintain execution momentum when challenges arise.
  • Competitive & Market Share Analysis: Collaborate with central analytics teams to evaluate marketplace performance, benchmark results against competitors, identify market trends and indirect effects, and maintain dashboards tracking key metrics such as ride volume, driver availability, conversion rates, GMV, and unit economics. Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
  • AI & Process Automation: Use tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to identify repetitive tasks and automate manual processes. Develop more efficient, AI-powered workflows at local or regional level.Business Ownership & Problem-Solving: Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous, high-pressure situations, including sudden market share changes, supply availability disruptions, and regulatory developments. Take ownership of decisions and outcomes while adapting strategies as circumstances evolve.
